Check out this video: Walking On His Own!!!
Add to My Profile | More Videos
Darren Jr. is trying very hard to stand up and walk on his own. He has been using the furniture to walk along since he was 6 months and just after he turned 7 months he began using the laundry basket and this toy to push around for a step or two. Darren Jr. is now almost 8 months and uses this toy to walk all around the house, along with the laundry baskets, boxes, and anyone who is willing to lend a hand for him to hold onto. He is also trying to stand on his own without something to lean on. It looks really funny he gets on his hands and knees and stretches his legs so that his butt is way up in the air and pushes up with his hands, then just sits there for a few minutes in that position. It won't be long before he takes off on his own. Hope you all enjoy the video if it will work and more posts to be coming soon... IT TOOK FOREVER AND DIDN'T WORK...... Trying to upload using myspace.

SWIMMING FUN!
A special thanks to Uncle Paul and Aunt Vicky for the use of their swimming pool! Darren Jr. was very excited and really enjoyed his first time in a pool. We had a great time at Uncle Paul and Aunt Vicky's house! We even ordered pizza and had it DELIVERED (We live too far out of town to have it delivered to our house)..... Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed making the memories of his first time swimming. We look forward to more trips to Great Aunt and Uncles house to use the pool.... Thanks again for letting us come over and use it!

Hometown Hero
![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() |
Darren was nominated for "Chico Outlaws Hometown Hero". Each game they recognize someone in the community for the services they have provided and their excellence in community involvement. Darren was recognized for several different reasons, including, U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, American Legion, Graduating with Honors from American River Mortuary Science, his outstanding service at Newton-Bracewell specializing in Veteran services, and congratulating him on becoming a first time father on 01/19/07. We originally had planned on taking a few friends to a game with all of our extra tickets, it just so happened that they were all (or most) were there to see him receive his t-shirts and recognition for "Hometown Hero"! Usually they tell the recipient what night they will be recognized, but because they weren't able to reach Darren, I kept it my little secret and let it be one big suprise for him!!! He was very excited! Darren was also signed up to do the Dizzy Bat Contest. There are two contestants, one was Darren and the other was a friend of Darren's they each had to put their heads on the bat and spin around it 10 times and then attempt to run down the baseline. It was very fun to watch considering they both had a few beers before hand. Darren just about fell into the Outlaws dugout, but luckily was caught by a player and headed into the right direction and won dinner for two...

Growing Fast
Isn't it funny how when children are so young, you can't wait for them to crawl or walk and then once they do you wish they just sat still or layed there like they once did? Then you can't wait for them to start school and learn knew things and once they are out all day you can't wait for them to be home? Darren and I were discussing this concept the other day and kind of chuckling about how we really enjoy watching all of Darren Jr's milestones in life, but can't help but think about what the future has to hold for him... He is growing rather fast and doing so much already, he has begun to learn how to crawl or scoot around, rollover, and he can really let you know what he thinks (chatter box like his dad)! These are some of the photos I captured as he turned three months old. Yeah I know it is not really turning a certain age, just a time line of growth. He is very active and loves to be entertained and to entertain... Enjoy!
